Ty's First Birthday

Well I am a little late on this one, but last Saturday we had Ty's Birthday party. It was lots of fun. We celebrated at Nana and Grandy's house. Ty loved his presents, but wasn't so wild about the cake. We finally got him to eat some icing with a spoon! He didn't want to get his hands dirty! I'm not sure where he gets that from. I think he all in all enjoyed it in spite of having two ear infections. It is so hard to believe that he is one year old. Time flies by. We are so thankful for him and the joy that he has brought into our lives. God is good!!! Enjoy the pics!

Ty's One Year Photos

Happy Halloween!!!

On Halloween we traveled out to Kingston Springs for a great dinner and some trick or treating in Nana and Grandy's neighborhood (along with all of Cheatham county). Then we went to see Grandmother and Grandad with our little honey pot. Ty got to trick or treat with Micah and Noah and he seemed to enjoy it. He didn't get scared of the scary people and he kept his hat on most of the time. Noah (Peter from Narnia) had a blast running from house to house. Trick or treating was more of a technicality for little Roo and the Honey Pot. It's always fun to hang out with family.

A Day at the Park

I'm a little behind on my posting, but on Monday Ty and I went to the park with Jenny, Noah, Micah, and Nana. We had a lot of fun and I took some pics that I wanted to share.

Trunk or Treat 2006

Well, it was a busy weekend as you see by my multiple posts, but it was all topped off with trunk or treat tonight. It was a blast. Ty was so amazed by everything. He just stared and stared. Thankfully he didn't get scared of all of the strange costumes and such. He was a honey pot (props to Nana for the costume!). I know I'm biased, but I thought he was extremely cute. You can be the judge. Brian and I were dressed as "Rock Stars" in staying with the theme that our juniors chose. It was fun to get dressed up and act goofy. Every now and then you need a reminder that you aren't a total old fogey! I hope you enjoy the pictures. The one with the little girl is Ty's friend Taylor and her mom Sara (my friend). I thought it was cute that they were staring at each other. Ty got some candy (hee hee). I wonder who will eat that??? He is just so much fun. Oh, he also took at least 7 or 8 steps in a row tonight. Big day!

My Girls

On Saturday night I got to go to a sleepover with the junior girls we coach at church. We do this once a year and it is called our anniversary party. This year we surprised the girls with a dinner with their fathers in which the fathers told them a lot of things they loved about them and hoped for them. It went great and we all had a good time. God blessed the night. It was a great idea by my fellow coach Lynn Hopkins. Brian and Ty spent the night at home and came to church this morning without a glitch. Brian is such a wonderful and capable daddy. I'm so thankful for that. It's nice to get out for a night every now and then. I wanted to share this picture of the girls. They are a special group.

Birthday Extravaganza!!!

This weekend we celebrated Ty's first birthday with his cousins on the Petty side of the family. The 3 boys (Malcolm, Alex, and Ty) were all born within 2 days of each other last year! They are quite a sight when they are together. Everyone had a great time. The boys were so cute. Ty wasn't too thrilled about birthday cake. In fact, he screamed and cried about it. Oh well, maybe he won't like sweets (yeah right). He did rather enjoy the chili though. The boy loves beans! Do they make baby beano? The boys all got some great gifts including lots of fun toys. We had a great lunch and enjoyed some family time. It is so amazing to look at how much God has blessed our family with these precious children. He is so faithful to provide blessings. I have attached several pictures from the party. We will be partying again next weekend so stay tuned for more photos!

Day of Firsts

Today was a day of many firsts. Ty had his first cheese, his first black beans, and his first ice cream(daddy slipped it in on me!). He also ate off of a plate for the first time. But the big first was his first hayride (which strangely didn't have hay!). He loved the ride, especially when we stopped to watch the cows. We went to Gentry Farm again with our life group from church. Unfortunately my camera was dead when we got there, but my friend Brooke took some good pics for me. It was a really fun day even though it was rather cold. Ty endured the cold well in his bundled up state. I'll attach a cute picture from the last Gentry's Farm trip just for fun! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

First Annual Petty Pumpkin Day!!!

Yesterday we had the first annual Petty Pumpkin Day. We took Ty to Gentry's Farm in Franklin where they have a huge pumpkin patch and you can pick out your pumpkins. It was a lot of fun. We had never been there. It's a great place to go. They have all kinds of activities, but we were too late in the day to do anything else. We got 2 big pumpkins and 4 baby pumpkins for $6! Ty was pretty excited about being outside and crawling around the pumpkins. We got some good photos (I finally found the camera!). We've decided that this will be a family tradition for us. After the pumpkin patch we headed over to Cracker Barrell for a family dinner. It was a great day!

Baby #2 is Doing Great!

Today was our first doctor's visit. We had an ultrasound, and everything looked great. The baby's heart was beating strong, and it was a quite a cute little peanut. The due date was confirmed for May 15th. We feel so blessed to have another precious baby on the way. We would love to have your continued prayers for this little one.

Showers and Family Fun

This past weekend we had 2 baby showers for Karen (my sis-in-law). They went great and baby Jack got lots of goodies. We are so looking forward to meeting him. He is supposed to be here in January. Aunt Kim and aunt Janet came in from Texas for the weekend and we got to spend some time with them. It was a wonderful weekend. Unfortunately I can't find my camera so I have no pictures.

Bad Hair Day!

Ty woke up from his nap this afternoon with this hilarious hair. It was sticking up all over, and I couldn't resist taking some pics. He must have had some crazy dreams during that nap. Just wanted to share!

Fun with Grandad!!!

Saturday night we got to spend some fun time with grandmother and grandad. I didn't get any pics of grandmother, but I got a couple of shots of Ty and grandad. They were having a blast with some balloons. Ty loves balloons, as do all babies I'm sure. We had a great time.

Pure Joy!!!

Well, it has been a while. Sorry for all you loyal blog readers. I know there are 2 or 3 of you. Things have been pretty exciting around our house. If you haven't heard we are expecting our second child. We are very excited! I'm suffering from the first trimester blues (nausea, indigestion, etc.), but I am so aware that it is all worth it. Ty has been such a joy lately, and everyday I am overwhelmed (with joy!) that God is giving us another gift so precious. Please pray that all will go well with this pregnancy.
Ty is at such a fun age. As I type, he is banging two plastic hangers together and fake coughing. Oh wait, now he is reading Dr Suess. He is standing pretty well on his own these days, so we can only assume that walking is right around the corner. Maybe before his first birthday anyway. His hair is getting longer and thicker, and he looks like such a little boy! I can't believe how fast it goes by.
I had to share some pictures. The one in the highchair is just from lunch today. The others are from yesterday. Mom came over, and we went to Centennial Park. He absolutely loves swinging. He gets so tickled as you can see in the picture. The other picture is of him carefully examining the mulch, as he does everything. I just wonder if he really is like his dad and he was thinking "I hope Modern Marvels has an episode on the history of mulch sometime soon. This stuff is facinating!" I hope everyone is doing great! Have a wonderful weekend!

Micah's 1st and Noah's 6th Birthday!!!

Yesterday we celebrated Micah's 1st birthday and Noah's 6th birthday, along with Grandy's 49th birthday. We had a great time. Noah wanted a safari theme so he had a tiger cake and all he little boys went on a safari searching for little animals in the yard. Micah rather liked his cake (but not so much the hat). Noah was beside himself because he received his first gameboy(good luck with that, sister). Everyone had a great time, especially Ty since he slept through the entire party! Every party has a pooper! I wanted to share these pictures. I couldn't resist the last one with Michael digging. It is just too funny and cute. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We met with our Life Group from church tonight. It was our first meeting and was great. I am constantly reminded of the blessings that God is pouring on our lives. Have a great week!

Labor Day 2006

We spent Labor Day afternoon at the Northcutt's house yesterday. Ty and Malcolm had fun chasing each other and attacking each other. I can already see that there is much wrestling in our future. Hopefully there will be minimal trips to the emergency room! Last night we had dinner at Mom and Dad's with Karen, Sarah, and Houston (and a short uncle John sighting). We ate on their new deck (shout out to Duane!), and it was marvelous. It was a great day! Aunt Kendria is bound to be sore today after holding those two big boys at the same time!
