Easter Day 2008

Well, we had a fun Easter. The kids got their Easter baskets Sunday morning. Ty was very excited and had used most of his gifts within 1 hour after getting them. Ansley thoroughly enjoyed chewing on everything in her basket. She is cutting 4 teeth. Then we went to church with Mom and Dad and spent most of the day at their house (where the kids both got another Easter basket!). Needless to say, we have plenty of candy at our house if anyone is low on sugar! I think Ansley had a pretty good first Easter. Here are some fun pictures from the day. Ansley and her cousin Sophia were so cute in the little headbands. I can't believe she kept it on long enough to get pictures!

Forrest Egg Hunt

Last Friday we had an egg hunt at mom and dad's. It was lots of fun and there were lots of eggs! This was Ty's third egg hunt so he had really started to get into it. Ty even found a dollar in and egg!!! I told him he could get 4 diapers with it. He was less than thrilled:). Here are some pictures from the event.

Ansley's First Easter Egg Hunt!

We had an easter egg hunt at Brian's parents' house on Monday. It was supposed to be Saturday but was rained out. There were 12 kids and lots of eggs. This was Ansley's first experience at hunting eggs. She much preferred to pick out one plastic egg and chew on it. Ty on the other hand loved getting the eggs. However, he wanted to eat the candy from each one as soon as he picked it up. It took me a few minutes to explain the concept that you get as many as you can and look inside when it's over. Hopefully he won't apply that lesson to other areas of life someday! When it was over we let the kids have a candy free for all. Ty has never experienced such pleasure in his life and kept looking at me like "I can't believe this is happening". He quickly shoved as much candy in his mouth as would fit over and over because he knew this would surely end. It was hilarious. Ansley got a few bites of chocolate herself and smiled really big. She now knows what she's been missing! It was lots of fun and will hopefully become a tradition. More egg hunts to come this weekend! What fun! Ty and I also dyed eggs yesterday for the first time. He really enjoyed it, and he kept trying to eat the eggs because they looked like candy I guess. It's so great that he's old enough to enjoy these things now. It makes me feel like a kid again (except that I have to clean up the mess!) Here are some pics of the fun!

40th Anniversary Party

We celebrated Brian's parents' 40th anniversary this past Sunday. The party was beautiful and went really well. We all had a good time and got to see lots of people we haven't seen in a while. Here are a few pics of the party. Notice the one of Ty karate-chopping Ansley in the neck followed by the one of him hugging her and saying sorry. Of course I forced the sorry. Ansley looks pretty unphased by the whole thing. Also, there is the picture of Ty two-finger picking his nose, one of his favorite hobbies these days! Oh well, he's cute enough to get away with it at age 2. We'll have to break him of that habit eventually! Enjoy the pics. This was Ty's first time to wear a tie. I had to give him a fruit snack to get him to happily let me button that top button and put on the tie.
